Les Muses en Dialogue & Atelier Scordatura France
Atelier Scordatura, 6 Rue Boussairolles, 34000 Montpellier

L’Atelier Scordatura is located in Montpellier in an exceptional setting: the Hôtel Faulquier, a 19th-century mansion just steps away from the Saint-Roch train station.

The origins of Atelier Scordatura lie in the meeting of two luthiers: Frédéric Becker, a master luthier and bow maker specializing in classical instruments, who worked at this address for nearly forty years, and Olivier Calmeille, now the workshop's director, a Montpellier-based luthier with 15 years of experience specializing in historical instruments and period setups.

Atelier Scordatura invites you on a journey through time to discover the richness of classical and historical string instrument craftsmanship, from restoration to the creation of bowed string instruments (from violins to double basses, including viols).

Free entry, registration required by email at atelier@scordatura.fr.

In 1685, Pierre Gaultier obtained Lully's permission to open the very first provincial opera house. From then on, opera became a Marseilles institution, central to the musical and cultural life of an entire region. Based on instrumental works by Gaultier, Concerto Soave has built a program around French opera of the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Lully is obviously present, but also Campra and Mouret, immense opera composers born in our region.
