TWO VOICES is the debut album from soprano duo Fair Oriana. It is divided into four volumes, each exploring a different sentiment: happiness, intrigue, passion and loss. At the core of the recording are Thomas Morley’s little known Twelve Canzonets to Two Voices. Rooted in their passion for, and specialism in, early music, Two Voices is packed with a variety of styles from Elizabethan song to contemporary commissions, with highlights of medieval, folk and baroque along the way.

Special recording that will be made on 19 March, and then put together on 20 March. It will be a short concert programme, with the provisional title "Recovery." It will open with Bach's 6-part ricercar from the Musical Offering, be followed by two of Grieg's baroque movements from the Holberg Suite (Praeludium and Air), and Erkki-Sven Tüür's Illusion: the [joyful] deconstruction of a baroque motive.
Musicians The performers are senior students from Musikskolan Lilla Akademien in Stockholm, under the direction of Mark Tatlow. The Bach will be played by six soloists, and the Grieg and Tüür by the school's Chamber Orchestra.

This project has the aim of recovering from oblivion the musical treasures included in the Codex Trujillo, 20 pieces which have strong folkloric roots, showing a balanced and surprising blend of African, American and European elements, what gives to this music a unique signature based on syncretism and cross-cultural communication. The recovering of this music will transport the audience to the Viceroyalty of Peru and approach the musical universe of the very end of Latin American Baroque.

To celebrate the annual Early Music Day Peterhof State Museum-Reserve offers its Instagram, Facebook and VKontakte subscribers performance of two most important pieces by Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643) and Heinrich Scheidemann (1595-1663).
